Journalist and TV presenter Drymalovskyi becomes spokesman for Defense Ministry

The new spokesman for the Ministry of Defense has become a military man, journalist and TV presenter Orest Drymalovskyi. The Ministry of Defense announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Drymalovskyi joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2024, defended Ukraine as part of the 79th separate Tavria assault brigade in the Donetsk Region, and was awarded the Cross of Valor medal for his exceptional service.

Drymalovskyi graduated from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

He has been in journalism since 2015, while studying at the university he worked for several Lviv online publications.

In 2019, he became a news correspondent for the Lviv TV channel "Pershyi Zakhidnyi", later - the host of the "OCHI" program on the same TV channel.

In the summer of 2020, Drymalovskyi moved from his native Lviv to Kyiv and began working as a correspondent for "Vikna-novyny" on STB, filming stories on the topics of communal and private property, political processes.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, since April 2024, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense has been poet, Shevchenko Prize laureate, and TV presenter Dmytro Lazutkin.

On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Denys Shmyhal, who previously held the position of Prime Minister, as Minister of Defense in the new government of Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
