Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group changes its name

On August 8, the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group changed its name to the Dnipro Operational and Strategic Troops Group. The command of the Khortytsia OSTG reported this on Telegram.

The name change also became known, in particular, through the renaming of the official Telegram channel of the OSTG. The Novynarnia publication reported that the General Staff confirmed such a renaming. The renaming took place within the framework of the transition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a corps-based command system.

The Khortytsia OSTG, also known as the Eastern Troops Group, was created in the spring of 2022 on the basis of the Joint Forces Command. It was responsible for the eastern operational direction, including such key areas of the front as the Izium, Lyman, Lysychansk, Kurakhove, Kupiansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar axes.

The area of responsibility of the Dnipro Operational and Strategic Troops Group includes areas of the front from the Kharkiv to the Dnipropetrovsk Regions.
