On Thursday, russian troops carried out almost 110 attacks on 47 settlements in 18 territorial communities of the Sumy Region, civilians suffered.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Sumy Regional Military Administration announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"During the day, from the morning of August 7 to the morning of August 8, 2025, russian troops carried out almost 110 attacks on 47 settlements in 18 territorial communities of the region," the Sumy Regional Military Administration said in a statement.
The largest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka Districts.
It is reported that the enemy actively used guided aerial bombs, dropping explosives from UAVs:
There were 25 VOG drops from UAVs; over 20 KAB strikes; up to 10 MLRS strikes. The enemy also carried out strikes with FPV drones and UAVs on the territory of the Sumy Region.
Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed.
As a result of the russian shelling of the region, civilians were injured:
- in the Seredyna-Buda community, an 88-year-old local resident was injured due to shelling by the NAR from a helicopter (suffered severe stress);
- a 46-year-old man was injured as a result of the dropping of VOG from a UAV; in the Sumy community, a 54-year-old man was injured due to an attack by a UAV.
During the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated 8 people.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, from the morning of August 3 to the morning of August 4, 2025, russian troops carried out 100 attacks on 38 settlements in 17 territorial communities of the region, but no civilians were injured.
On the morning of August 5, russian occupiers launched a missile strike on an agricultural enterprise in the Sumy District. Two employees of the enterprise were killed and three others were injured.
