In January-July 2025, steel production decreased by 7% to 4.26 million tons compared to the same period in 2024.
This is stated in the information published on the website of the Ukrmetallurgprom association of enterprises, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In January-July 2025, pig iron production increased by 6.7% to 4.36 million tons compared to the same period in 2024, and rolled steel production decreased by 2.8% to 3.62 million tons.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the 1st quarter of 2025, steel production increased by 2.7% to 1.73 million tons compared to the 1st quarter of 2024.
Ukraine ranked 20th in the ranking of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in 2024.
