A current US Army soldier from Texas, Taylor Adam Lee, was arrested in the United States. He is suspected of attempting to transfer secret technical information to the russian government in exchange for russian citizenship.
This was reported by the US Department of Justice.
Lee had access to classified and restricted information. In June 2025, he allegedly transferred data about the vulnerabilities of the American M1A2 Abrams tank to representatives of the russian ministry of defense via the Internet.
In July, during a personal meeting with a person whom Lee believed to be a representative of the russian government, he handed over an SD card with detailed information about the Abrams and another unnamed armored combat vehicle. Some of this material was marked "controlled technical data", which is prohibited from disclosure, and the rest was marked "controlled non-classified information" with restrictions on distribution.
In addition, according to the investigation, on July 31, Lee delivered certain equipment from an Abrams tank to a warehouse in the city of El Paso, after which he sent a message to an undercover agent with the words: "Mission accomplished."
Recall that in Poland, the man is suspected of espionage in favor of the aggressor state of russia by collecting and transmitting information, in particular, about the functioning of facilities that are key to Poland's defense. It was established that he acted for ideological motives.
