The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to appoint Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi as the Director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today, the government has decided to appoint Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi as the Director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine. After the decision of the competition commission, proper checks and passing a polygraph test, there are no reservations about his candidacy," she said.
Svyrydenko noted that the government expects the Bureau to update its work, strengthen the institution, and achieve a significant level of trust between the Bureau and Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
"It is important that economic relations in Ukraine are not distorted by shadowy schemes and that business can count on respect from the state," the Prime Minister noted.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 1, Svyrydenko announced that the candidate for the position of the Director of the Bureau of Economic Security, Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi, will undergo a polygraph test before the government considers his confirmation for the position.
On June 24, former detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi won the competition for the position of the Director of the Bureau of Economic Security, and a proposal for his appointment was submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers. However, the government initially did not appoint Tsyvinskyi as the Director of the Bureau of Economic Security, as they expressed doubts about his compliance with all the criteria required of a candidate for this position.
According to media reports, the father of the candidate for the position of the Director of the Bureau of Economic Security, Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi, is a citizen of the aggressor country russia.
Ukraine was supposed to appoint a new Director of the Bureau of Economic Security by July 31 in accordance with the Memorandum on Economic and Financial Policy concluded by Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund.
