US President Donald Trump expressed the opinion that his successor as head of state could well be current Vice President J.D. Vance. He stated this on August 5 during a press conference at the White House.
"So it's too early, obviously, to talk about it, but certainly he's (J.D. Vance. - ed.) doing a great job, and he would be probably favored at this point," Trump said.
He also suggested that Vance could team up with current Secretary of State Marco Rubio "in some form."
Earlier that day, in an interview with CNBC, Trump said that he probably would not run for a third term, although he admitted that he would like to serve a third term. Earlier, he also spoke of his intention to hand over power to "some good Republican."
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Trump's approval rating has fallen to 40%, which is the lowest figure in his entire term.
