Villagers in Mykolaiv Region attacked territorial recruitment and social support center's military with bats and pipes. There are victims on both sides

On Sunday, August 3, in the village of Buzke, Mykolaiv Region, local residents attacked territorial recruitment and social support center's servicemen during an alert event.

The Mykolaiv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has reported this on Facebook.

It is reported that at about 2:00 p.m., a group of villagers armed with bats and metal pipes attacked the territorial recruitment and social support center's servicemen and a representative of the National Police. The attackers damaged the service vehicle and injured one of the soldiers.

In response, the serviceman used a traumatic pistol for self-defense.

"... civilians armed with bats and metal pipes damaged motor transport and injured a soldier from the alert group. In self-defense, this serviceman fired a shot from a device for firing non-lethal rounds (a traumatic pistol)," the report says.

It is previously known about the victims among both the military and civilians. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene.

The territorial recruitment and social support center reminded: a threat or attack on a serviceman performing tasks to ensure national security is punishable by up to 12 years in prison. Such actions may also be signs of a crime under Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - "Obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine".
