Energy Commission increases maximum prices for electricity for businesses almost 2 times

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (Energy Commission) has increased the maximum prices for electricity for businesses by 1.6 times since July 31.

This is stated in the commission's message, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to the resolution on maximum prices, prices have changed in the time period from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

They are set on the day-ahead market (DAM) and the intraday market (IDM) at the level of UAH 15,000.00/MWh (currently - UAH 9,000/MWh), on the balancing market - UAH 16,000/MWh (currently - UAH 10,000/MWh).

In all other time intervals, price caps are left at the current level.

In particular, in the day-ahead market and the intraday market:

maximum limit prices from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - UAH 5,600.00/MWh; from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. - UAH 6,900.00/MWh; minimum limit price - UAH 10.00/MWh;

In the balancing market, the Energy Commission left the maximum limit price from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. - UAH 6,600.00/MWh; from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. - UAH 8,250.00/MWh; minimum limit price - UAH 0.01/MWh.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the end of May, the Energy Commission extended the current limit prices on the day-ahead market, intraday and balancing markets for another six months.

The day before, expert Oleksii Kushch stated that the Energy Commission, in violation of procedures, plans to increase price caps on the electricity market.
