President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine has received confirmation from partners for the provision of three Patriot air defense systems, and negotiations are underway to receive seven more.
He told reporters on July 24, Reuters reported.
"I have officially received confirmation from Germany about the provision of two systems and from Norway about the provision of one. We are currently working with Dutch partners," he told reporters.
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump announced that Ukraine would receive billions of dollars in American weapons, including Patriot missiles. This launched negotiations on which partners can participate in the arms procurement program - a process that will determine the amount of support that Ukraine will receive.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, The Telegraph reported that the Patriot air defense system and additional interceptors have already arrived in Ukraine thanks to a deal with Germany.
As a reminder, on July 14, US President Donald Trump announced that Ukraine would receive 17 MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems.
NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus Hrynkevich confirmed that preparations for the delivery of Patriots to Ukraine are underway. He reported that he had been instructed to do so as soon as possible.
