The Verkhovna Rada will meet to consider a bill on strengthening powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) on July 31. Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to consider the urgent presidential bill "On Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Strengthening the Powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office" (registration number 13533) will be held on July 31, 2025," he said.
Stefanchuk noted that during the consideration of this bill, he will propose to immediately adopt it as a basis and in its entirety, as well as to support its immediate signing.
In addition, according to him, the parliament will consider other important legislative initiatives.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for approval bill No. 13533 on Strengthening the Powers of the NABU and the SAPO, after several days of protests against the adoption of bill No. 12414, which reduces the independence of anti-corruption bodies, which Zelenskyy signed, and concerns of international partners.
