Russian occupiers carried out massive shelling of a thermal power plant, which is not a military facility, work is currently underway to eliminate the consequences. The Ministry of Energy reported this on Telegram.
"The enemy carried out massive shelling of one of the thermal power plants. The attacked plant has no relation to military facilities," the Ministry of Energy said.
The Ministry of Energy also notes that such targeted attacks are yet another proof of the aggressor's terror and genocidal policy and this is yet another attempt to intimidate Ukrainians and deprive us of light and heat.
Currently, energy workers are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the meantime, electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased. As of the morning of July 24, it was 2.1% higher than at the same time the previous day - on Wednesday. The reason is hot weather throughout Ukraine.
On the night of July 23, the russian federation struck the energy infrastructure of Ukrzaliznytsia in the Sumy and Poltava Regions.
After that, Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian representatives at the negotiations would insist on the need for an immediate and complete ceasefire, including strikes on civilian infrastructure.
