Budanov reminds of "common trouble" amid situation with NABU and SAPO

The head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that it is necessary to resolve internal contradictions through an open dialogue, amid protests regarding the situation with NABU and SAPO. Referring to history, he emphasized the loss of a nation that is "torn apart by internal disputes."

He wrote about this in Telegram.

"Ukrainian history has taught us that a nation loses if it is torn apart by internal contradictions. We have one common trouble, one enemy. Therefore, it is necessary to resolve internal contradictions through an open dialogue to achieve a single common goal - to defend our country. I am confident that Ukraine will be saved by a strong army and institutions. We must show wisdom and responsibility," he stated.

As a reminder, on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading bill No. 12414 with amendments that give the Prosecutor General access to all NABU cases and the authority to independently sign suspicions against all top officials.

NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and SAPO Head Oleksandr Klymenko appealed to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, urging him to veto bill No. 12414.

The European Commission stated that the European Union is concerned about the actions of the Ukrainian authorities regarding NABU and SAPO.

Protests against the adoption of bill No. 12414 on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have taken place in Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa and Lviv.
