On the night of Monday, July 21, the russian troops launched 426 drones and 24 missiles of various types over the territory of Ukraine, the air defense forces managed to shoot down 224 enemy air attack means, another 203 drones did not reach their targets.
The press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of July 21 (from 9 p.m. on July 20) the enemy attacked with 450 air attack means:
- 426 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - the russian federation;
- 5 Kh-47 M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (from the airspace of the Tambov Oblast of the russian federation);
- 4 Kalibr cruise missiles (from the Black Sea);
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile (launch area - Millerovo, russian federation);
- 14 Kh-101 cruise missiles (from the airspace of the Saratov Oblast, russian federation).
According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 a.m., air defense systems shot down/suppressed 224 enemy air attack means:
- 200 Shahed attack UAVs;
- the vast majority of missiles were shot down by fire-based air defense systems, the rest were suppressed by electronic warfare/lost in location (no information was received on hits).
In addition, 203 simulator drones did not reach their targets - they were lost in location (presumably suppressed by electronic warfare).
23 strike UAVs were recorded in 3 locations, as well as the fall of downed ones in 12 locations.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Saturday, July 19, the russians launched 344 drones and 35 missiles of various types over the territory of Ukraine, the air defense forces managed to shoot down 185 UAVs and 23 missiles, another 129 drones and 7 missiles did not reach their targets.
That night, russia carried out a combined attack on Ukraine, using drones and missiles of various types. Explosions were heard in many regions, including Ivano-Frankivsk.
One person, preliminarily, was killed and two were injured in Kyiv. According to Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv, civilian infrastructure facilities in the city have been damaged and there are casualties.
