Astronomer CEO, caught hugging colleague at Coldplay concert, resigns

Andy Byron has stepped down as CEO of tech company Astronomer after a video of him hugging colleague Christine Cabot at a Coldplay concert went viral on social media, Variety reports.

So, in a statement, Astronomer said the company is committed to the values and culture that have guided it since its founding.

"Our leaders are expected to set the standard for both behavior and accountability, but recently those standards have not been met. Andy Byron has resigned and the board has accepted his resignation. The board will begin a search for the next CEO, with co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy serving as interim CEO," the Astronomer added.

"Until this week, we were known as innovators in DataOps, helping data teams with everything from advanced analytics to production AI. While the perception of our company may have changed overnight, our product and the work we do for customers have remained the same. We continue to do what we do best: help customers solve the most complex problems related to data and artificial intelligence," the company summarized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, during a Coldplay concert, a "kissing camera" exposed the affair between the CEO of the startup Astronomer, Andy Byron, whose wife Megan Kerrigan Byron was at home, with their two children at the time, and HR Director Christine Cabot.
