President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated boxer Oleksandr Usyk on his victory in the fight with Daniel Dubois and retaining the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.
He wrote about this on social networks.
"Olexander Usyk did it again! Absolute champion. Legend. Ours. Thank you for the strength and inspiration that you give to the whole country with each of your victories. Thank you for having every fight with Ukraine in your heart. Congratulations on your victory - to you, the country, and everyone who supported you," the President of Ukraine congratulated.
Recall that Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois early in a rematch that took place on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London. The Ukrainian knocked out his opponent in the fifth round and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
Earlier, former world champion and 2016 Olympic gold medalist Robson Conceição expressed confidence in Oleksandr Usyk's victory in the upcoming rematch with Daniel Dubois. According to his prediction, Usyk could end the fight with a late knockout or win by decision of the judges.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Usyk appeared on the streets of London in a burgundy suit with designer embroidery, which is a reinterpretation of the image of a modern Cossack.
