Ukrainian parliamentarians discuss possibility of men under 24 traveling abroad - Stefanchuk

Men aged 18 to 24 may be allowed to travel abroad. Such an initiative is being discussed in parliament.

This was stated by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, quoted by the website of the TV broadcaster "We-Ukraine".

"The Ukrainian parliament currently consists of 398 people with the right of legislative initiative. There are a lot of initiatives in parliament. I know that this topic is being discussed, including at the level of a special committee," the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada said.

According to him, there are ideas in parliament regarding the travel of men under 24, but what the decision of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence is not yet known.

"From 18 to 25 years old - these are people who are not subject to mobilization, but do not have the opportunity to exercise one of their rights. Therefore, we must find a mechanism to give them the opportunity to exercise all these rights. What mechanism will be found - I will wait for the committee. Individual members of the committee are working on liberalization," Stefanchuk added.

It should be noted that during martial law, the departure of men aged 18 to 60 outside Ukraine is prohibited. However, some categories of military servicemen are allowed to travel abroad.
