25,000 Shaheds and almost 2,500 cruise missiles. Air Forces reveal how many targets it shot down since February 24, 2022

The Ukrainian Air Forces have destroyed about 25,000 Shahed-type strike drones and almost 2,500 cruise missiles since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. It was reported by the head of the communications department of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yurii Ihnat during a telethon.

Thus, Ihnat recalled that the first Shahed was shot down over Ukraine in October 2022, and as of today their number reaches 350 Shahed-type drones.

"The enemy has already launched a lot of Shahed strike UAVs at us. In total, about 25,000 Shaheds have been shot down on the territory of our state since they were used. October 2022 - the first Shahed was shot down. It was established that this Shahed was of Iranian production, and now Russia has the opportunity to scale this production and increase the number. Today we had about 350 - such an anti-record, namely Shaheds, the rest are imitators," Ihnat said.

It is also noted that generalized statistics on the shooting down of russian missiles will be provided by Air Forces Day, which is celebrated on August 3.

"I think we will summarize this information. We can say that thousands of cruise missiles, about 2,500, if I'm not mistaken, were only shot down by air defense. It is clear that ballistics are a smaller percentage. Kinzhals were shot down out of 160 - 48," Ihnat emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Yurii Ihnat previously informed that Ukrainian interceptor drones are currently being actively used by the defense forces and some units are effectively dealing with Shaheds.

CNN previously stated that it has become more difficult to fight drones of the aggressor country, as the attacks have become massive and concentrated. In addition, drones fly at higher altitudes, where machine guns cannot reach.
