US President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous disease, which is common in people over 70. The bruises on the American president's hands are also associated with it.

The White House reported that Trump underwent a medical examination due to "mild swelling" of his legs and bruising on his hand. During it, a venous disease was detected, which is common in people over 70.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a note from Trump's doctor during a briefing. According to her, Trump underwent an ultrasound and a "comprehensive examination" that included a diagnostic study of the vessels.
The examination showed that 79-year-old Trump has chronic venous insufficiency. According to the Cleveland Clinic, this condition occurs when the veins in the legs struggle to pump blood back to the heart, leading to blood accumulation.
Leavitt said there was no sign of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease, which could include a blockage.
Recent photos of Trump also show bruising on the back of one of the president's hands. His doctor said the marks were "consistent with minor soft tissue damage from frequent handshaking" and regular aspirin use.
Leavitt told reporters that Trump was not in any discomfort with the condition.
"As for treatments, I can defer to the president's physician," she added.
The White House released a memo from White House physician Sean Barbabella detailing the president's examination and confirming what Leavitt had reported from the podium. Barbabella said the president's medical team performed an echocardiogram that showed "normal cardiac structure and function."
"No signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness were identified," the doctor wrote.
The note concluded with a conclusion that Trump "remains in excellent health."
In April, Trump underwent an annual physical, after which his doctor wrote a note that the president is in "excellent health," including "demonstrating excellent cognitive and physical health," adding that Trump's heart function is "normal."
Trump will be 82 years old when he leaves office, making him the oldest president in history to leave office.
