The German Ministry of Defense did not confirm the statement of the President of the United States of America Donald Trump that the first deliveries of components for the Patriot air defense system, which he spoke about the day before, are already on their way from Germany to Ukraine. This is reported by the SRF publication.
"I cannot confirm that anything is on the way now. I am not aware of this," said the spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense.
It is worth noting that the SRF publication writes about the Patriot systems themselves, but Trump, in a conversation with journalists published by the Reuters agency, answered questions about missiles for the air defense system.
Among other things, the spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense reported that a virtual meeting of members of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in the Ramstein format will be held on Monday. The purpose of the meeting is to find solutions to resolve certain issues, "so that then the supply of Patriot systems to Ukraine can be carried out as soon as possible."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to Reuters, European allies first heard about US President Donald Trump's proposal to send their weapons to Ukraine, and in return buy weapons from the US, right during his speech.
