Latvia has handed over a batch of six-wheeled Patria APCs to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The ceremony took place as part of a working visit by Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa to Ukraine. This indicated in a statement by the press service of the Ministry of Defense on Wednesday, July 16.
Siliņa met in Kyiv with the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Major Valerii Churkin, and the Commander of the Third Army Corps of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Andrii Biletskyi. The Prime Minister noted that Latvia is handing over the first batch of armored vehicles to Ukraine and will continue to support the counteraction to russian aggression.
"We are very proud that we continuously support Ukraine not only militarily, but also financially, politically and emotionally," said Siliņa.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 29, Latvia sent Ukraine a new batch of strike drones as part of the international "drone coalition".
In January, Ukraine received another package of military aid from Latvia.
Recall that the mayor of the Latvian city of Ogre, Egils Helmanis, was injured in Ukraine during a humanitarian mission.
