US President Donald Trump believes that russia will eventually win the war against Ukraine, and it's only a matter of time.
A senior White House official who wished to remain anonymous has announced this, Politico reports.
"The president's view is Russia is going to win, it's a matter of how long it takes," he said.
According to the official, Trump sees russia's advantage in its economic and military resources. "Russia has the bigger economy, has the bigger military, has more than enough bodies to throw into the meat grinder, and just doesn't care. And although they are making slow progress, they are still making progress. The president just wants to stop the killing," the source explained.
At the same time, according to the administration, Trump has agreed to support new arms shipments to Ukraine in order to increase pressure on moscow and try to force it to negotiate.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 14, US President Trump announced that Ukraine would receive 17 MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems. Some of them will arrive in the coming days.
In addition, Trump is considering the possibility of transferring JASSM cruise missiles to Ukraine.
