The Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company and global energy technology company Baker Hughes have signed a memorandum of strategic partnership to strengthen and modernize Ukraine's energy sector.
This is stated in the group's message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The signing took place in Rome on July 10 as part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference.
The message says that thanks to this agreement, the companies will explore new technical, operational and commercial opportunities in key areas of energy, including: production, transportation, storage, processing of oil and gas, as well as in geothermal projects, carbon capture technologies and electricity generation.
Key areas of cooperation envisaged by the memorandum: services and equipment for drilling and well construction; solutions for reducing emissions, carbon capture, hydrogen and geothermal energy projects; digital services, automation and analytics; equipment for underground works and production processes; software for asset management and drilling optimization.
It is noted that a separate memorandum was also signed between Baker Hughes and JSC Ukrtransgas, which is part of the Naftogaz group, to assess the possibility of using the portfolio of Baker Hughes gas processing equipment for underground gas storage and electricity generation projects in Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Naftogaz group and the Polish company ORLEN signed an agreement for an additional 140 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States, which will be delivered to Ukraine.
