Air defense neutralizes 718 of 741 enemy drones at night

On the night of Wednesday, July 9, russian troops launched 13 missiles and 728 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to neutralize 718 targets, in particular, 7 missiles and 296 UAVs were shot down.

This was announced by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is noted that on the night of July 9 (from 08:00 pm on July 8), the enemy attacked Ukraine with 741 air attack vehicles:

- 728 Shahed-type strike UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions of Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Oryol and Millerovo (all - russian federation);

- 7 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Engels district of the Saratov Oblast and Kursk Oblast (both - russian federation);

- 6 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from the airspace of the Lipetsk Oblast (russian federation).

The main direction of the strike was the city of Lutsk.

"According to preliminary data, as of 08:30 am, air defenses neutralized 718 enemy air attack vehicles, 303 were shot down by fire weapons, and 415 were lost in location," the report says.

Thus, 7 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles and 296 Shahed UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles of other types) were shot down by fire weapons, and another 415 drones were lost in location/suppressed by electronic warfare.

Enemy air attack vehicles were hit in 4 locations, and downed aircraft fell in 14 locations.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of July 8, russian troops launched 4 missiles and 54 drones over Ukraine, air defense forces shot down 26 UAVs, and another 8 drones were lost/suppressed by electronic warfare (EW) means.
