On the night of July 9, Poland put air defense forces, fighter jets and radar reconnaissance on alert due to the massive missile and drone attack by the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces on X.
"Please note that in connection with the attack of the russian federation, which is striking at objects located on the territory of Ukraine, operations of the Polish and allied air forces have begun in our airspace," the message said.
The Polish Operational Command also stated that available forces and means at the disposal of the Commander of the Operational Staff of the Armed Forces were involved.
"The measures taken are aimed at ensuring security in the territories bordering the threatening areas. The operational command of the Armed Forces of Poland monitors the current situation, and subordinate forces and means remain fully prepared for immediate response," the message added.
According to the Polish military, during the russian attack, ground-based air defense and radar recognition systems reached the highest level of readiness.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, russia launched a massive missile and drone strike on western Ukraine, and launches of Kinzhal missiles were recorded.
The russian federation carried out the most massive missile and drone attack on Lutsk since the beginning of the invasion, fires broke out in the city.
