Marketplace for frontline support launched in Ukraine, where military will choose necessary weapons themselves – Defense Ministry

On July 7, DOT-Chain Defence – a kind of weapons marketplace created for operational support of the front - was launched. It was reported by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Facebook.

According to him, DOT-Chain Defence is a new digital system that accelerates and simplifies the supply of weapons for our Defense Forces.

"10 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will participate in the pilot launch, for which the Ministry of Defense has allocated a billion hryvnias to the Defense Procurement Agency. With these funds, the brigades will be able to order FPV drones through the IT system of the State Logistics Operator, and soon - other types of UAVs, electronic warfare equipment, robotic complexes," the message says.

Each military unit will have the opportunity to choose exactly what it needs to perform tasks. Financing and delivery will be provided by the Defense Procurement Agency. It is noted that now the supply will take place not in months, but in a few weeks.

DOT-Chain Defence is developed based on the food supply model for the army.

How the system works:

  • The military independently selects, orders and reserves the necessary means, sees delivery times, leaves feedback and receives quick answers.
  • Manufacturers receive a clear mechanism for cooperation with the state and the army, as well as direct feedback from the military.
  • The state sees the real needs of the front, makes decisions based on data, supports the development of the defense industry and the introduction of innovations.

Recall that a new Ukrainian drone for laser targeting has appeared in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
