After Braverman, NAСB leadership expects dismissal of detectives deputy chief Niedov: for hidden cost of two luxury apartments and VIP car – media

Following Stanislav Braverman, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB) leadership should dismiss Roman Niedov, who hid property worth hundreds of thousands of dollars through manipulation. Otherwise, the NACB leadership will have to be dismissed, says the investigation of Informator.

"After numerous publications in the media last week, a message finally appeared that the NACB dismissed detective Stanislav Braverman. He was dismissed because he had sexual relations with a witness and because of this, he disrupted corruption cases worth billions. No less high-profile is the case of the NAСB official Roman Niedov, which continues to grow with new details. In terms of criticality, Niedov should follow Braverman, otherwise the NAСB leadership will have to be dismissed: they are either aware or on the take," emphasizes the author of the investigation.

According to him, the total cost of two luxury apartments and a VIP car, systematically hidden through manipulation by the deputy head of the detective unit, Roman Niedov, amounted to more than one hundred thousand dollars. These funds cannot be justified by the income of either Niedov or his wife, or their relatives, the investigation notes.

Moreover, journalists report that new data has emerged about a suspiciously sharp increase in the income of Niedov's wife from "entrepreneurial activities", which she received in the period preceding and during the full-scale invasion.

"Until 2020, Liia Niedova modestly worked as a salaried employee in hospitals and clinics and earned a modest UAH 30,000-40,000 per year. And in 2021, when Niedov had finally settled in with the NACB, she registered as an individual entrepreneur. And, as they say, she got lucky: in 2021–2024 (mostly the "war" years), she "earned" more than UAH 7 million (almost USD 200,000) at once. That is, income suddenly increased dozens of times (!) per year, compared to previous years! At the same time, opening a private dental business requires, in addition to knowledge, significant investments in expensive equipment. Interestingly, the last publication on the wife's work Instagram page was made on 04/12/2023. That is, activity is minimal, and high income is regular," emphasizes Informator.

The publication reminded that for the first time information about the possible illegal assets of the NAСB official Roman Niedov was published more than a month ago.

"There has been no reaction from the NACB leadership yet. Are they waiting for another high-profile scandal worth a billion to "explode"? Meanwhile, the NACP is also in no hurry with the inspection. So far, we have only received a reply with a promise to continue investigating, but it is not known when it will be completed. Do we believe that they will check it?" the material emphasizes.

In general, the author of the investigation reported, the stories of Braverman and Niedov are just two cases out of dozens of abuses and suspicions of crimes in the NACB, information about which is being spread from all sides.

"If you dig deeper, you will find that behind one person dismissed from the NACB for misconduct, there are dozens of malicious violators (and this is with a staff of several hundred detectives!), to whose illegal actions neither the Bureau's leadership, nor the NACP, nor the State Bureau of Investigation, nor the Prosecutor's Office reacts. It is clear that society is not satisfied with such logic, because a structure that has become so rotten in 10 years is definitely not what it counted on when forming the anti-corruption bloc. Each subsequent story only confirms the thesis that experts constantly voice: the NACB and other "anti-corruption" structures need to be disbanded and started building "from scratch". Otherwise, theft will continue, and there will be more and more earners – "fighters" against corruption," concludes Informator.

As previously reported, the deputy head of the NACB detective unit, Roman Niedov, has purchased several luxury real estate properties in Kyiv and a VIP car in recent years, which were initially registered to close relatives.

Last week, it became known that the NACB Director Semen Kryvonos was forced to dismiss Stanislav Braverman, a detective of the Main Detective Unit, following disciplinary proceedings. Several major NACB corruption cases against Odesa businessman Kaufman worth billions of hryvnias collapsed due to the detective's intimate relationship with a witness.
