Explosion in Kyiv. Klitschko and energy experts deny rumors of fire at CHPP-6

According to preliminary information, a tank with fuel and lubricants exploded in the hangar of a commercial enterprise in Kyiv near CHPP-6. The mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko, reported this on his Telegram channel on Sunday, July 6.

"The explosion that Telegram channels are currently writing about has nothing to do with CHPP-6. Previously, a tank with fuel and lubricants exploded in the hangar of a commercial enterprise near the CHPP," Klitschko wrote.

According to the mayor, emergency services are currently working at the scene. There are no injuries.

Recall that some of the capital's Telegram channels reported an explosion at CHPP-6 and power outages in the Dniprovskyi district. The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported on Telegram that the information about the explosion at CHPP-6 is not true. The power went out on several streets on the left bank of Kyiv, but the fire has already been localized.

Kyivteploenergo noted that the explosion occurred at an enterprise outside the CHPP territory. All CHPPs in Kyiv are operating normally.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 21, a large-scale fire broke out at the Bila Tserkva CHPP in the Kyiv Region during repair work, resulting in the death of two people.
