Major General of the army of the aggressor country of russia Mikhail Gudkov was killed in the Kursk Oblast as a result of a strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The death of the russian general was confirmed by the governor of the Primorsky Krai of the russian federation Oleg Kozhemyako.
Kozhemyako published a post on his official Telegram channel with condolences over Gudkov's death.
"The Guards Major General, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the russian Navy, former commander of the 155th Separate Guards Marine Brigade died while performing his duties as an officer together with his fellow soldiers," Kozhemyako wrote.
The governor noted that after becoming Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the russian Navy, Gudkov "did not stop personally traveling to the positions of our marines."
It is likely that this feature of the major general was the cause of his death.
On the eve, a number of russian Z-channels and "military bloggers" spread messages about a "great loss" for the russian army.
Later, information began to appear on the network that general Gudkov had died as a result of a strike by Ukrainian military personnel.
According to some Z-channels, Gudkov died as a result of a strike on a command post in the settlement of Koreneve, Kursk Oblast. There is no official confirmation of this information.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 25 of this year, Major General of the russian Army Yaroslav Moskalik died in a car explosion in the Moscow Oblast.
And in December 2024, General Igor Kirillov, who commanded the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops of the russian Armed Forces, was blown up in Moscow.
