The military of the aggressor country, the russian federation, allegedly executed another Ukrainian prisoner. A video recording has spread on social networks, showing how a person was tied to a motorcycle and dragged along the road.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets has reported this.
Lubinets stressed that such actions by the russians are demonstrative cruelty and another war crime. He sent official letters to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations, which are supposed to record these crimes.
"Russia is acting as a terrorist state. And it must bear fair responsibility for each crime," the Ombudsman added.
Lubinets also appealed to citizens: if you have witnessed or have any information regarding the violation of the rights of Ukrainian citizens, the executions of Ukrainian servicemen, please report it to the Ombudsman of Ukraine's hotline at 0800 50 17 20 and to law enforcement agencies.
"These testimonies are important for establishing the truth. Such information will contribute to documenting war crimes, ensuring legal response, and bringing the perpetrators to justice in accordance with the norms of international and national law," the Ombudsman emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to Dmytro Lubinets, the executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war are a systemic policy of the aggressor state of russia, which is encouraged by the country's leadership.
As of May, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine recorded more than 150 cases of executions of Ukrainian defenders who were captured by the russians.
At the same time, the independent UN international commission of inquiry into the situation in Ukraine, in its report dated March 19, 2025, pointed to an increase in the number of cases where russian military personnel purposefully killed or maimed Ukrainian fighters who surrendered or attempted to surrender.
