Polish President says he's against Ukraine's "unconditional" EU entry

The newly elected President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, has confirmed that he opposes Ukraine's unconditional entry into the European Union. The Polish publication PAP reported this on Tuesday, July 1.

Nawrocki noted that Poland needs cooperation with Ukraine, but on the basis of partnership. According to him, in order to join the European Union, the country must meet certain criteria.

"Many countries, including Poland, have been waiting for years to meet the specific expectations of the European Union in order to be part of it," the politician said.

According to him, there is also no possibility of Ukraine joining NATO due to the war.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 20, Nawrocki said that he would not support the ratification of Ukraine's accession to NATO.

On May 22, Nawrocki said that he would not sign the law on the ratification of Ukraine's accession to NATO.

On May 24, Nawrocki said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has a bad attitude towards Poland.
