Internal analysis confirmed: russia organized attack on colony in Olenivka using artillery shells

UN experts have established that the terrorist attack on the colony in Olenivka in July 2022 was organized by the russian Ministry of Defense with the participation of the russian Armed Forces.

This was reported by the Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets with reference to the document.

The information refutes the version of an independent action by the Wagner PMC: the terrorist act was most likely planned at the Moscow level.

UN experts describe that three types of ammunition were used for the attack - thermobaric rocket launchers, anti-tank guided missiles and barrel artillery. From the analysis of the materials and eyewitness accounts, it follows that only the BSA artillery shells fully corresponded to the signs of the attack. In particular, the russian 120 mm thermobaric shell 3OF74 was used, which is capable of creating a powerful thermal wave. A 2A51/60/80/801 howitzer-mortar gun was used to launch it.

"This is an important document that should become a powerful impetus for continuing the investigation. The pain of Ukrainians for Olenivka has not gone away," Lubinets emphasized, calling for the case to be brought to an end and the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

Recall that on July 29, 2022, the russians accused the Armed Forces of Ukraine of shelling a colony in Olenivka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war were held, allegedly with HIMARS.

The UN later refuted this version, emphasizing that the destruction did not correspond to strikes with this weapon.

Ukrainian intelligence stated that the explosion was organized by Wagner on the orders of Prigozhin without coordination with the russian Ministry of Defense.

The terrorist attack killed 53 prisoners and injured up to 130. Ukraine launched an investigation and returned the bodies of 62 of the killed on October 11, 2022.
