IMF to consider allocating 8th tranche to Ukraine on Monday

The International Monetary Fund will consider allocating 8th tranche to Ukraine on Monday, June 30.

This was announced by Verkhovna Rada member from the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Today, a meeting of the IMF board will be held, where the 8th review of the program with Ukraine will be approved. This will, among other things, pave the way for a tranche of almost USD 500 million (487, something like that)," he wrote.

The MP added that today is also the date of the official submission of all documents for the appointment of a new head of the Economic Security Bureau to the Cabinet of Ministers.

IMF representatives and the Ukrainian authorities reached an agreement at the staff level (Staff-Level Agreement, SLA) in late May.

The relevant agreement must be approved by the IMF Board of Directors, which will consider it in the coming weeks.

After that, Ukraine will have access to financing in the amount of 0.37 billion SDRs (about USD 0.5 billion in equivalent), and the total amount of payments under the program will reach USD 10.65 billion.

The total size of the program remains unchanged (USD 15.5 billion).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2025 it is planned to attract USD 2.7 billion from the IMF based on the results of four quarterly reviews.

At the end of March, the state budget of Ukraine received about USD 400 million of the next tranche of the International Monetary Fund.
