The US Central Intelligence Agency confirmed that the recent strikes on Iran had a significant impact on its nuclear program. This was stated by CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
"The CIA can confirm that intelligence indicates that Iran's nuclear program has been seriously damaged by recent targeted strikes," the statement, which is cited by RBC-Ukraine, says.
According to a new intelligence report, several key Iranian nuclear facilities were destroyed as a result of the attacks. Their restoration, according to experts, may take several years.
The CIA also emphasized that they continue to work on collecting additional information in order to "fully inform the relevant decision-makers and oversight bodies."
"We will also provide updated information as possible," the agency added.
As a reminder, on June 22, US President Donald Trump announced that US forces had struck Iran's nuclear facilities.
Later, Trump said that as a result of the strikes, uranium enrichment facilities "were completely and irreversibly destroyed."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, CNN reported, citing US officials who had read the preliminary US intelligence assessment, that the US military strikes on Iran did not destroy the main components of the nuclear program. It was stated that Tehran's progress in creating nuclear weapons was likely set back only a few months.
