Interpipe ships premium pipes for gas production in Romania

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has supplied tubing with premium UPJ-M connections to upgrade 39 wells at the Bilciuresti gas field in southern Romania, UAProm reported, citing the company's press service.

It is noted that the project aims to increase daily production from 14 million to 20 million cubic meters of gas.

"This is the first significant volume of UPJ-M threaded pipes that we have managed to supply not only to Romania, but also to the European market as a whole," emphasized Ivan Mazanka, Interpipe's Director of Pipe Sales for the European Market. "The design of the premium UPJ-M joint is ideally suited for gas production due to its high tightness and resistance to internal and external pressure. We hope that the successful descent experience will open the way for our products to other oil and gas projects in the region."

Over the past decade, Romania has been consistently increasing its natural gas production. In addition to developing new fields both onshore and offshore, the country is also initiating the modernization of wells and gas pipelines for relatively old projects. In particular, the previously mentioned Bilcuresti field was discovered back in 1962.

Earlier, Interpipe first supplied pipes for offshore work in Turkey. The company also established the supply of pipe products for salt mines in Italy.
