PrivatBank plans to sell UAH 5 billion of problem loans to individuals

PrivatBank plans to sell UAH 5 billion of problem loans to individuals this year.

This is announced in the bank's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"During 2025, PrivatBank plans to offer professional market participants a loan portfolio with a total debt of over UAH 5 billion, which will include consumer loans granted to individuals without collateral. We are talking exclusively about loans classified as "bad". That is, at one time the bank offered these clients restructuring programs, carried out work on debt repayment, using all tools, including forced collection," the statement says.

The terms of sale of the right of claim for such portfolios are fair and transparent - they are held on the platform of the Ministry of Justice's electronic trading system OpenMarket SE "SETAM" and include only the loan principal and accrued interest.

Loans for which debtors are military personnel, mobilized, as well as residents of territories where active hostilities are taking place or which are temporarily occupied will be excluded from the portfolios of bad loans for sale.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of the end of 2024, the level of non-performing assets (NPL) in the loan portfolio of PrivatBank, not related to former managers and owners, was 4.9%.
