US do not reject scenario of using tactical nuclear weapons against Iran

The White House does not exclude the use of tactical nuclear weapons to strike an underground nuclear object in Iran.

This was reported by Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, with reference to her own sources.

On the eve, The Guardian, she released a material that said Donald Trump was not ready to agree to the attack because she doubted the effectiveness of GBU-57 antitusal bombs. In particular, US military officials were informed that even a large-scale operation using several such bombs will not be able to completely destroy the underground complex in Fordo - a maximum of partial destruction of tunnels.

The assessment was carried out by the US Defense Ministry Agency. According to them, to complete destruction of the object at a depth of more than 90 meters will need to "soften" the soil with a series of ordinary bombs, and then use a tactical nuclear warlord from the bombard B-2.

Nevertheless, US administration officials have not publicly confirmed any decision on Iran's impact. The sources in the White House denied the statement that the variant with the use of nuclear weapons was completely removed from the discussion. In particular, it is specified that the President did not directly offer such a scenario neither the Minister of Defense Pete Hegseth, nor the head of the Joint Committee of Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Kane.

The day before it was stated that the US President would decide on the probable action in Iran within two weeks.

Meanwhile, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have spent several telephone conversations since the start of Israel's strikes on Iran to find a diplomatic way of ending the war.
