One of the most influential advisers to US President Donald Trump and the White House personnel director, 38-year-old Sergio Gore, was suspected of hiding his origin. According to media reports, he may be originally from the USSR.
As reported by The New York Post, citing sources, Sergio Gore, who is responsible for the selection and verification of personnel, did not pass it himself. The publication claims that Gore did not submit documents about his past, which are necessary for obtaining permanent access to classified information. In particular, he did not submit a 100-page questionnaire containing, among other things, questions about his place of birth and all previous places of residence, foreign contacts and family members, foreign funding, etc.
Gore himself claims that his birthplace is the island country of Malta, but a local official could not confirm Gore's place of birth when asked for his exact date of birth. The official commented to the publication that "no records with the information provided have been registered."
Gore refused to reveal his birthplace to the publication, saying only that it was not russia.
At the same time, The Dispatch previously reported that Gore moved to the United States from Malta in 1999, graduated from high school in a suburb of Los Angeles. At school and at the beginning of his studies at George Washington University, he bore the surname Gorokhovsky, which he later shortened. And those who knew Gore personally allegedly say that he was born in the Soviet Union.
