Iran rushing to ship oil to Persian Gulf island to sell while it can - Bloomberg

Iran is trying to export as much of its oil as possible to the world market amid Israeli strikes and news of a possible joining of the attacks by the United States of America.

This was reported by Bloomberg yesterday, June 19.

Iran is rushing to ship oil to an oil storage facility located on Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf.

Satellite images taken the day before show that the tanks on Kharg Island have begun to fill up actively in recent days. These tanks have special covers that rise or fall as they fill. In the images from June 18, you can see that the covers are located at the top of the tanks.

Last week, most of the tanks had their covers down. This is evidenced by the shadow cast on them by the walls of the tanks.

In addition, the movement of oil is indicated by the behavior of tankers. They sail to the terminal, where they are likely to be pumping, and then hastily depart from the pier.

TankerTrackers co-founder Samir Madani confirmed in a comment to Bloomberg that his company has also recorded Iran’s oil movement to Kharg Island.

He suggested that Iran is seeking to sell as much oil as possible while the opportunity exists.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 19, the White House announced that US President Donald Trump would make a decision on Iran in the next few weeks.

The day before, on June 18, Trump said that he was considering launching strikes on Iran.
