Ukrainian experts have recorded the use of a russian drone of the Shahed type with extended functionality for the first time: it is equipped with a camera, a direct radio control system from the territory of the russian federation and an artificial intelligence module that implements the function of the so-called "machine vision".
Engineer and military analyst Serhii "Flash" Bezkrestnov reported this on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the presence of such drones in russia was known earlier, but their first practical use in Ukraine has only now been confirmed.
As Bezkrestnov explained, the radio modem installed on the drone provides real-time control of it from a distance of up to 150 kilometers - from the territory of the russian federation or a controlled zone on the front line. In the case of using aerial repeaters, the range can be even greater.
The published photos show both the drone itself and the modules responsible for video recording, control and data processing using AI. Such technological modernization makes the drone not only more accurate, but also more unpredictable in behavior, because the AI module allows you to detect and recognize objects in real time.
According to experts, the appearance of such Shaheds indicates a gradual change in the nature of drone attacks - from mass launches of the same type to pinpoint high-tech destruction of targets.
Recall that earlier Beskrestnov denied the veracity of technical information about the new Shaheds - the drones are not controlled during flight via the Telegram messenger and do not use Ukrainian mobile networks.
