President of the aggressor state of russia, vladimir putin, said that he does not rule out the possibility of negotiations with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but stressed that he does not consider him authorized to sign any international agreements.
The russian leader stated this during a conversation with representatives of world news agencies, the state agency RIA Novosti reports.
Putin said that "Russia does not refuse peace talks" and that he is personally "ready to meet with everyone", including Zelenskyy. However, he questioned his legitimacy in the context of signing important agreements: "We do not care who is negotiating, I am even ready to meet. But when the final stage comes... the signature must be from the legitimate authorities".
Explaining his position, putin, as before, referred to the alleged provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine, according to which, in his opinion, Zelenskyy's term of office has already ended. According to the russian president, Ukraine is a "presidential-parliamentary republic", where "all bodies of power are formed by the president", which allegedly calls into question the legitimacy of the current Ukrainian government as a whole.
Recall, Trump said that russia would not have started a war in Ukraine if it had not been expelled from the G8 and that putin was offended by this.
