Zelenskyy commemorates victims of russian shelling in Kyiv

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commemorated victims at the site of the russian attack on a residential building in the Solomianskyi District of Kyiv. It was reported by the Office of the President, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Zelenskyy laid flowers at the destroyed entrance, which was hit by russia on the night of June 17, as a result of which 23 residents of the building were killed.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported to the President that search operations had been completed at the site of the shelling, more than 400 rescuers and more than 200 pieces of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack. According to him, 500 residents have submitted applications for documentation of the loss of housing.

Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko informed that more than 1,000 people have turned to the district headquarters for help, and they are being provided with all necessary support.

Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction - Minister of Communities and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba reported that a technical inspection of the house is currently underway, and if major reconstruction is impossible, people will receive compensation for the destroyed housing.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 17, russia launched a combined massive strike on Ukraine and used 440 Shaheds and 32 missiles. In Kyiv, houses in eight districts were damaged as a result of the attack. This shelling claimed the lives of 28 people in the capital, 142 residents were injured, six of them children.
