Macron rejects Trump's idea of putin mediating between Israel and Iran

French President Emmanuel Macron has rejected US President Donald Trump's idea of russian leader vladimir putin mediating in the conflict between Israel and Iran.

He said this during a visit to Greenland, The Times of Israel reports.

"I do not believe that russia, which is currently engaged in a high-intensity conflict and has decided for several years not to respect the UN Charter, can be a mediator," Macron said.

Earlier in an interview with ABC News, Trump said that he was open to putin, whose troops invaded Ukraine in 2022 and who is resisting Trump's attempts to negotiate a ceasefire with Kyiv, as a mediator between Israel and Iran.
