United States not ready to agree to lower russian oil prices – Bloomberg

The United States is not ready to agree to lower the ceiling price for russian oil within the framework of the G7.

It was reported by Bloomberg, citing informed interlocutors.

The EU and the UK are proposing to lower the ceiling price for russian oil to USD 45 per barrel, instead of the current USD 60, in order to increase financial pressure on russia and reduce its oil export revenues, which are used to finance the war against Ukraine.

However, despite diplomatic efforts, the US maintains its position, voiced during the previous meeting of the G7 finance ministers, and is not ready to change its approach. According to sources, the final decision depends on President Donald Trump, but so far there has been no change in the US position.
