Iran fires about 100 missiles at Israel: 2 killed and at least 100 injured in Jewish state – government and media

On the evening of June 13, Iran launched two salvos of surface-to-surface missiles at Israel, hitting less than 100 targets in total. Most were intercepted by air defense systems.

The representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Major General Effie Defrin has stated this. The IDF press service quoted him on its Telegram channel.

Defrin admitted that several buildings were hit, in some cases by debris from the interception.

Meanwhile, reporters from Israel's russian-language Channel 9 reported that as of the morning of June 14, 2 Israelis had been killed and at least a hundred injured.

The military appealed to the residents of Israel, reminding them of the need to follow safety rules and respond to sirens.

“Your responsibility on the home front saves lives,” he said.

The IDF spokesman stressed that Israel launched its Rising Lion operation to eliminate the Iranian threat.

“We will not allow Iran to escalate and produce such a number of missiles that could pose an existential threat to the State of Israel. Please continue to follow the instructions of the Home Command – they save lives. I want to take this opportunity to emphasize: do not report the location of the hits; the enemy monitors such footage to improve its targeting,” he urged civilians.

Defrin said there was a threat of further attacks from Iran. The Israeli command “continues to direct the operation, assess the situation and prepare for what lies ahead.”

“Further interceptions may occur, and we are taking measures to eliminate this threat. Remain calm – together we will deal with this,” he concluded.
