The aggressor country russia is throwing dozens of motorcycles with infantry into battle, regardless of losses, which is forcing the Ukrainian military to change their approaches to fighting.
The commander of the Kara Nebesna UAV crew of the 4th Rubizh operational brigade of the National Guard Andrii Otchenash stated this on the air of Espresso, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
He said that the brigade is holding defenses on three axes - Siversk, Lyman and Pokrovsk, while the situation remains tense, because the russians are constantly trying to storm.
According to Otchenash, the russians are currently mainly relying on motorcycle assaults. "The enemy is trying to suppress our firepower and the positions from which our pilots operate, and with the help of motorcycles to break through as deeply as possible, creating a conditional blitzkrieg. The idea is to bypass the first line of defense, gain a foothold in the rear, and then expand the bridgehead. In most cases, this tactic does not work: in fact, they surround themselves... But because it is done quickly on motorcycles, in some directions the enemy really manages to advance," the commander said.
Otchenash also added that the russians have improved their tactics.
"Since they are absolutely indifferent to losses, they throw 10-20 motorcycles into battle. For them, this is normal. And even if 17 are destroyed, but 3 pass through and gain a foothold - for them this is considered a success," he said.
According to the commander, the new tactics of the russians force them to conduct defensive operations differently. For example, to destroy 20 motorcycles with infantry, you need not one or two, but 20–30 FPV drones.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 12, 209 combat clashes took place on the front in a day, 66 of them on the Pokrovsk axis.
