NBU net international reserves fall by 6.4% to USD 29.994 billion in May

The National Bank's net international reserves decreased by 6.4% in May to USD 29.994 billion compared to the previous month.

This is according to the NBU data, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, they have increased by 3.1% from USD 29.102 billion.

Net international reserves are the difference between gross reserves and the balance of the NBU and the Ministry of Finance's debt on loans to the International Monetary Fund.

The NBU's official reserve assets in May decreased by 4.6% to USD 44.535 billion, and since the beginning of the year increased by 1.7% from USD 43.795 billion.

At the same time, gross reserve liabilities in May decreased by 0.7% to USD 14.541 billion, and since the beginning of the year decreased by 1% from USD 14.694 billion.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, net international reserves increased by 2.4% from USD 28.381 billion.

in 2023, net reserves increased by 54.6% from USD 18.322 billion.

In 2022, net reserves decreased by 11.8% from USD 20.767 billion.

In 2021, the NBU's net international reserves increased by 14.6% from USD 18.144 billion to USD 20.765 billion.

In 2020, net reserves increased by 14.5% from USD 15.785 billion.

In 2019, net reserves increased by 63.8% from USD 9.644 billion.
