North Korea has moved a new warship that crashed during a launching ceremony to the port of Rajin - near the border with russia. Analysts suggest that moscow may be involved in its repair.
This is reported by CNN with reference to satellite images of the company Maxar Technologies, taken on June 8.
The images show that the destroyer with a displacement of about 5,000 tons is currently in a dry dock at the port of Rajin. This port is located in the special economic zone of Rason, which borders a short section of the North Korean-russian border. Although Rajin is not a major shipbuilding center, it has basic infrastructure for ship maintenance.
Yu Jihoon, director of external cooperation and an associate research fellow at Korea Institute for Defense Analyses, noted that the port could be used for repairs. According to a report by the Modern War Institute at West Point, the United States Military Academy, Rason is an important point of cooperation between the DPRK and the russian federation - in particular, in the field of supplying weapons to moscow for the war against Ukraine.

The accident probably damaged the bow of the destroyer, where sonars and echo sounders are usually located. Former South Korean Navy Admiral Kim Duk-ki suggests that North Korea could have imported this equipment from China or russia, since it does not have its own technologies for its production.
The South Korean military believes that the main damage concerns the internal compartments of the ship: it could have partially flooded, so it needs to be cleaned of seawater, dried electronics and repaired salt damage.
Recall that in the second half of May, North Korea's newest military destroyer sank immediately during a launching ceremony. The incident occurred on May 21 at a shipyard in the city of Chongjin in the northeast of the country in the presence of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
