Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys arrives in Kyiv

Today, June 9, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys arrived in Kyiv for a visit, where he will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha and a number of officials.

It was reported by the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.

Thus, on Monday, June 9, Budrys arrived in Kyiv for a working visit, where he will meet with:

  • Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha,
  • Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna,
  • Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin,
  • Secretary of the National Defense and Security Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko.

It is indicated that during the visit, meetings of the Lithuanian Foreign Minister with the head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov are also scheduled.

It is planned that the minister will discuss the situation on the front with members of the Ukrainian government and senior officials, international efforts to force Russia to cease fire and declare a ceasefire as the main condition for the start of peace talks.

The meetings will also discuss the issues of Ukraine's security guarantees, priorities for military, diplomatic, financial and humanitarian support, Ukraine's progress in the process of integration with the EU, and measures to deter and deter russia.

It is noted that this is his third visit to Ukraine after he took up the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The last time the head of Lithuanian diplomacy visited Ukraine was on April 1, 2025.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the end of May, a representative of the Embassy of the russian federation in Lithuania was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was handed a note of protest. It concerns war crimes committed by the russian occupiers in Ukraine.
