Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko announced that a tax increase is not expected in the event of a possible revision of the 2025 state budget.
He announced this in the Verkhovna Rada during questions to the government, writes the Sudovo-Yurydychna Hazeta, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We do not anticipate an increase in taxes in any way," Serhii Marchenko emphasized, answering the question.
The Minister of Finance explained that the Cabinet of Ministers needs to request an additional increase in spending on the security and defense sector.
"First of all, this is explained by the fact that the situation in our country is changing quite quickly, dynamically, there are needs for the purchase of a new type of weapons, military equipment and the implementation of other decisions, there is an intensification of hostilities. Therefore, of course, we will contact you and all these decisions will be listed, and respond to the request of servicemen and the security and defense sector," he noted.
Key parameters, planned assignments, are currently being fulfilled in full - however, as Marchenko pointed out, there is an unplanned need of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is determined by the wartime regime.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to introduce a tax for sellers on OLX, Rozetka, Prom and others.
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy recommends adopting a draft law on cryptocurrency taxation as a basis.
